Naved Shaikh was born in Kurla, Mumbai, India, on August 10, 1993.He is the son of Shahid Raza and Farhin Raza. His family hails from Amravati, where he still has relatives.Growing up in a neighborhood called Ram Bachan Chawl in Kurla, Mumbai, Naezy comes from a lower-middle-class family. Raised by his mother while his father worked overseas, he channeled his energy into creative expression after a challenging youth. Naezy, along with his rapper friend Neykhil Naik, formed a collective called The Schizophrenics during his time at Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Matunga.
Career
He made his debut with a DIY music video “Aafat!” in 2014, using an iPad. This was followed by the release of “Mere Gully Mein” in collaboration with DIVINE, which shed light on the Mumbai rap scene. Their music even caught the attention of director Zoya Akhtar, inspiring the film “Gully Boy” starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. Naezy’s music often addresses socio-political issues, aiming to raise awareness among young people with his “conscious hip-hop.” Despite facing challenges with his family and the pressures of fame. Naezy returned to the rap scene in 2019 with his single “Aafat Wapas”, a continuation of his first track “Aafat.” He also released his debut album “Maghreb”, featuring six songs.
