Early-life

Rima Das was born in 1982, at Chaygaon, Assam, India. She is the daughter of a teacher. She cleared the National Eligibility Test(NET) after her Masters in Sociology at Pune University. later on, She gained an interest in acting and a desire to become an Actress and went to Mumbai in 2003. She acted in plays and some of the plays are Premchand’s Godaan and staged at Prithvi theatre. later in 2003, Rima Das had done graduation a degree in physics from Cotton College, Guwahati. Then She enrolled in Screenwriting and Direction courses at the Filmmakers International Screenwriting Academy, Kerala.

Career
Rima Das gained interest in Acting and shifted to Mumbai in 2003 to pursue a career in Acting. Later on, She acted in plays and some of the plays are Premchand’s Godaan and staged at Prithvi theatre. After her graduation in 2008, She made her first Short film named “Pratha” in 2009. Later on, in 2011, Rima made her debut feature film named “Man with the Binoculars”. She had shot that film From a DSLR Camera in Kalardiya in 2011. Later on, in 2016 “Man with Binoculars” screened at the Mumbai Film Festival. In the beginning, Rima did all the work single-handedly, She wrote, directed, Produced, edited, and shot as well.
Later on, in 2017, She released her film “Village Rockstars” and that film won several National and International Awards. And Rim Das had done all the work of that film single-handedly. “Village Rockstars ” premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Later on in 2018,” Village Rockstars” selected as India’s official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards. Village Rockstar became popular just because of Rima Das. She made all of that possible just because of her hard work.
