Career
Jagadish Shettar had done BCom and LLB. And because he had done LLB he practiced as a Lawyer for 20 Years. And In 1990 Jagadish Shettar started his Political Career. And from 1994 – 2023 he is the Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly(MLA). In 1990 He had become the President of Hubli BJP Rural Unit from Bhartiya Janta Party. And after that he had become the president of Dharwad BJP Unit. And Finally in 1994 Jagadish had become the MLA form Bhartiya Janta Party.
In 2008 Jagadish Shettar became the Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly. And IN 2009 he had become the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. And because of all his hard work in 2012 he Finally became the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP)
Jagadish Shettar had announced that his Resignation from the Bhartiya Janta Party and also as the member of legislative assembly. And because of that he also denied the Ticket for the upcoming Elections on 16 April 2023. After that He had Joined Indian National Congress(INC). He stands for Elections From Indian National Congress in Hubli-Dharwad by he looses that election.
At the Election time of 2023, Jagadish Shettar left Bhartiya Janta Party and Joined Indian National Congress. And because of that Jagadish Shettar faced loss against BJP representative.
After all of that Jagadish Shettar decided to return Back to Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP) on January 25, 2024 after giving 9 months to the Indian National Congress.
Family
Jagadish Shettar’s father, S.S. Shettar, played a significant role in shaping his son’s political career. S.S. Shettar was a prominent figure in Hubli-Dharwad’s political landscape, serving as the city’s mayor for five terms and a member of the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation for many years. He was also a dedicated activist for the Bhartiya Jana Sangh, a right-wing Hindu nationalist party that later evolved into the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
