Arrested
Jaffer Sadiq was arrested in the case of Drug Smuggling worth over INR 2,000 Crore. Narcotics Control Beauro(NCB) said that the Tamil Film industry involved in all of this since February 15, 2024 (Saturday).
NCB named Sadiq as the “Kingpin” of the India-Australia-New Zealand drugs trafficking Network, and also said that he had smuggled the drugs over INR 2,000 Crore to Australia and New Zealand.
Gayaneshwar Singh(NCB Deputy Director General) cleared that he has sent over 3,500 kg of pseudoephedrine in 45 parcels to Australia. Pseudoephedrine has sent abroad concealed in coconuts and dry fruits. Jaffer escaped to Jaipur via Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad. He amassed crores by drug smuggling and invested the drug money in real estate and film production.
